Michele R. Brown

AUTHOR & STORYTELLER

I’m a critically thinking master storyteller peddling hope - so that we don’t forget that we are loved and we matter. I want my writing to reveal all the places where the love of God shows up in our daily lives…

I tell stories to make people laugh and remember what’s good in this life.

So this happened!

Friends of Gideon

THE STORY & REASON

Friends of Gideon began as a way to describe all the people we were meeting in the midst of our own adventure. It later became the best name for a rescue organization. As a policy maker I understand that there are many incredible organizations already impacting many facets of animal rescue work. I’m not interested in duplicating effort, I’m interested in maximizing impact. Friends of Gideon is concerned with areas that seem to frustrate rescue work - like spaying and neutering strays and eliminating puppy mills. I am also deeply concerned about dog fighting. A bait dog that I named Grace landed on my porch and changed everything I understood about bully breeds. What I know for sure is that no dog breed deserves to be abused in that way.

YOUR SUPPORT

Friends of Gideon works with existing organizations to make wise investments in work that: encourages pet adoption from shelters, supports spaying and neutering programs, ends dog fighting in the U.S., and promotes the end of kill shelters as a matter of national policy.

A portion of the proceeds from my books and other literary work goes to Friends of Gideon.
